PEORIA COUNTY SHERIFF DEPUTIES RESPOND TO A FATAL SINGLE CAR ACCIDENT IN CENTRAL ILLINOIS
At approximately 4:30, Peoria County Sheriff deputies responded to a fatal car accident near the intersection of Airport and Kickapoo Roads. 26-year-old Lena J. Mogged was pronounced dead at the scene by the Peoria County Coroner's office. Police believe Mogged was driving her 2004 Pontiac Grand Am southbound on Kickapoo Road when she lost control of the vehicle and veered to the east side of the road before sliding down an embankment. Police reported that Mogged's vehicle came to rest on the passenger side against several trees. The roof of the vehicle was collapsed. Traveling in the vehicle with Mogged was her 8 and 9-year-old sons. Medical personnel on the scene reported that both boys were conscious and were being transported by ambulance to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois.
